A mixed-use building of restaurant, owner’s residence, and apartments, located in the central Tokyo. The idea of design is to archive a consistent and minimalist exterior envelope while dealing with a variety of internal program and spacial requirements. The design has carefully controlled sizes and patterns of the edge and corner conditions, especially controlling the sectional details of the sash in relationship to the terrace opening, in order to emphasize ‘STEP’ effect in RC cast structure. The result has achieved somewhere between classic and post modern expression of architecture.
